Wedding Checklist Photography

Wedding Planning Tips For Dummy

The choice of photographer and what to photograph are so important to your wedding day. This is how the event of a lifetime is going to be documented. A must include item on your wedding checklist – photography.

This is extremely important. You need to know who to photograph, when they are going to be photographed and what you want captured. Also, if video is going to be a part of the event as well as still photography that requires planning too.

Sample Wedding Checklist – Photography

What you need to convey to your photographer is what you want shot before during and after the wedding ceremony. It is common to shoot the bride and groom separately the day before the wedding.

Your photographer should get a list from you as to who and what you want shot before the day of the wedding. This will aide tremendously in getting the photos you want.

Do not be too overbearing. Some photographers will not work well if the list is too detailed, but a good professional should be understanding and want to accommodate your requests.

A wedding reception checklist should include: pre wedding photos, wedding ceremony photos, before the reception photos, photos during the reception, and photos of the bride and groom leaving.

A list of important people – those that must be photographed should be given to the photographer along with the seating charts so that they will know who to shoot.

Also, the extended family photo should be arranged prior to the wedding, possibly taking it after the ceremony and prior to the reception. Also be sure to convey what events need to be recorded.

This is a personal choice but also allow the photographer to use his creativity to help get the best photos possible.

Posing Guide for a Wedding

If the facility where you are getting married has great scenery and grounds, get photos of the bride and groom on those grounds. Make sure that the light is coming from the side or overhead.

Avoid strong light from the background or from in back of the photographer as this will make your photos washed out. If you decide on it, have the photos of the wedding party for both the bride and groom done at a park or some other scenic area beforehand.

Removed from the stress of the wedding day, both bride and groom will take better pictures. Remember that natural pictures look better than fake, posed one.

Wedding Picture Guide

There are certain pictures that you must have. Your wedding picture guide will include a list for a single shot of the bride, a single photo of the groom, many pictures of the newlywed couple, pictures of the extended family and important people.

You may also want to get close-ups of the bouquet and wedding cake.

When all is said and done you are the one in control of the pictures that are taken. Develop a good working relationship with your photographer and the day will go smoothly for both of you.
